Cyberpunk 2077 devs celebrate their game's comeback

An infamous futuristic video game is finally seeing growth and positive reception after a Netflix show based on it was released.

The 2022 show Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has taken Netflix by storm.

The show takes place in the world of the 2020 game Cyberpunk 2077 and tells the story of a street kid trying to survive in a technology-obsessed world.
The show has broken Netflix viewership records with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100% and audience score of 96%.

The game has seen a triumphant return in terms of new players as it has integrated a few features from the show in a recent update.

Cyberpunk 2077 has shot above 100,000 concurrent players, greatly above its average of 10,000-15,000 in its 2 years on the market.
"It's f**king good to be back. That was really so heartbreaking." said the game's quest director in response to the game's resurgence vs. how it began.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a very shaky start when it was first released.

Many found that the game greatly promised but vastly underdelivered, so much so that it initially had to be taken off digital store shelves temporarily.
Since then, the developers have worked hard to improve the game up to their players' standards.

Video game adaptations into film and TV has been quite the hot trend.

Although many of these adaptations are received poorly, they likely generate interest for viewers to try out the game such adaptations were based on.
