Nintendo launches a new concierge service to provide your family with game recommendations

This story about Nintendo's unique concierge service, boiled down, in 1:19 minutes.

What's the fuss?

Have you ever wondered what game to get your kid next? Or how to quickly set up your new console before your kid gets home? Nintendo has you covered with their concierge service.

The situation

The Nintendo Switch, Nintendo's latest video game console, has sold like hot cakes (70 million sold) since its release in 2017. That momentum has gained fervor in the pandemic, translating into a lot of new Nintendo Switches being sold during this time.

To better onboard the influx of new players, Nintendo has launched their new Nintendo Switch Concierge, which gives new Switch owners the ability to schedule a 30 minute, 1-on-1 appointment with an expert on anything Nintendo. There are six appointments to choose from: Nintendo Switch 101, Games (Getting Started), Games (What to Play Next), Security and Privacy, Nintendo Account, and Customization.

The service is free of charge for new Switch owners (or parents of those owners) over the age of 18. Whether your new to gaming, new to Nintendo, or just want tips on what game to get your kid next, this service can help you out.

Boiling it down

The sudden release of this service seems to coincide well with Nintendo Switch consoles finally being back in stock. Although such "tutorial" services such as this from other technology companies isn't anything new, Nintendo Concierge may be the push indecisive parents need to make an informed decision on getting their kids into gaming.

Nintendo's catalogue of games, including the likes of Super Mario, caters more to gamers of all ages and are more gender-neutral (past Nintendo consoles have had a majority female ownership). With this in mind, the pandemic has created new gamers at an unprecedented rate and this service seems determine to help then navigate the uncharted waters.
